AOCS Team Lead (AIT & On-Orbit Operations)

We are looking for an experienced AOCS Team Lead to support both Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) and on-orbit operations for an active satellite fleet.

This role combines technical leadership with hands-on involvement, ensuring seamless coordination between ground testing and in-orbit spacecraft operations. You will lead a team of engineers, drive operational excellence, and contribute to the continuous improvement of AOCS performance and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of AOCS AIT and On-Orbit Support Engineers
  • Define operational schedules and delegate responsibilities across AIT and on-orbit activities
  • Coordinate with international engineering teams to ensure alignment and performance
  • Plan and oversee test campaigns and on-orbit task execution
  • Monitor, investigate, and resolve anomalies affecting spacecraft safety and performance
  • Propose and implement improvements to test plans and operational procedures
  • Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and traceable
  • Support hiring and development of local engineering talent as needed
  • Participate directly in AIT and on-orbit activities when required
  • Contribute to automation and efficiency improvements across operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in spacecraft attitude and orbit control systems

Preferred Experience

  • AOCS design, optimization, and system-level performance analysis
  • Hands-on experience with spacecraft AIT activities
  • Execution and evaluation of satellite test plans
  • Telemetry analysis and component-level performance assessment
  • Familiarity with on-orbit operations and anomaly resolution processes
  • Experience with documentation and process management
