An international technology company is looking for a Senior RAN Systems Engineering Lead to drive technical engagements with strategic Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) while working closely with Product Engineering, R&D, and Systems Engineering teams.
About the Role
This role combines deep RAN engineering expertise with customer-facing technical leadership. You will lead network integration, service enablement, technical escalations, and deployment readiness for next-generation wireless communication solutions.
The ideal candidate comes from the R&D or Systems Engineering organization of a leading telecom infrastructure vendor and has extensive experience supporting Tier 1 operators throughout product introduction, validation, and commercial deployment.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical relationship with assigned Mobile Network Operators (MNOs).
- Lead technical workshops, architecture reviews, integration activities, and deployment readiness.
- Drive LTE/5G feature integration, service validation, and commercial launch support.
- Troubleshoot complex RAN issues across PHY, MAC, RLC, and RRC layers.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and coordinate issue resolution with R&D, Product Engineering, Validation, and Operations teams.
- Monitor deployment KPIs, technical milestones, risks, and readiness.
- Produce technical documentation including RCAs, integration reports, and deployment guides.
- Collaborate across engineering teams to improve deployment processes and technical best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 12+ years of experience in RAN Systems Engineering, Product Development, or R&D.
- Previous experience with a major telecommunications infrastructure vendor.
- Strong background in LTE and 5G RAN technologies.
- Hands-on experience with eNodeB/gNodeB integration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Deep understanding of 3GPP, including PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, Scheduler, HARQ, Mobility, ICIC, MIMO, and Beamforming.
- Experience supporting customer trials, feature validation, service enablement, and commercial launches.
- Strong customer-facing experience working with Tier 1 Mobile Network Operators.
- Experience with RF Front-End, Baseband, IQ Analysis, and Antenna Systems.
- Experience using Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, XCAL, XCAP, QXDM, and telecom log analysis tools.
- Experience producing technical documentation and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Python scripting for automation and log analysis (Bash is a plus).

- Experience leading complex cross-functional engineering initiatives.
- Comfortable working across international teams and time zones.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) or satellite communications.
- Knowledge of Open RAN (O-RAN).
- Experience with Core Network or Gateway integration.
- Familiarity with CPRI/eCPRI and multi-vendor interoperability.
- Exposure to cloud-native telecommunications environments.
