Our Client, a global leader in sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing with a strong international footprint across Europe, the US and Asia, is currently seeking an experienced GLOBAL ENERGY MANAGER to join their international engineering organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute the company’s global energy management strategy aligned with business and sustainability goals
- Conduct regular energy audits and define site-specific optimization roadmaps in collaboration with local utilities teams
- Lead global programs to reduce energy consumption, increase efficiency, and minimize carbon footprint
- Provide expert support across black utilities:
1. Industrial chillers & refrigeration 2. Cold loop networks 3. Steam & hot water systems 4. Boiler optimization & cogeneration
- Identify, evaluate, and implement renewable and sustainable energy solutions (solar, heat recovery, biomass, battery storage)
- Ensure full compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory standards
- Support energy-critical elements of new facility designs and major expansions
- Define, monitor, and report global energy KPIs and benchmarking systems
- Partner with procurement to secure optimal energy sourcing and supplier performance
- Drive awareness, training, and capability development in energy and sustainability topics globally
REQUIRED QUALITIES AND SKILLS:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related field (PhD preferred)
- At least 5 years’ experience in energy management, utilities engineering or facility operations within a regulated industry (pharmaceutical, chemicals, food & beverage, etc.)
- Deep technical expertise in black utilities (chillers, steam, hot water, cold loops)
- Proven experience in renewable energy integration and energy-storage technologies
- Strong understanding of European energy regulations and sustainability frameworks (EU Green Deal, ISO 50001)
- Demonstrated ability to lead global engineering initiatives in cross-cultural environments
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in English; Hungarian and/or Danish or Chinese is considered an advantage
