Position: Hardware Engineer – Electrical Systems

Department: Engineering / Project Execution

Reports to: Head of Engineering Departement

Role Purpose

The Hardware Engineer is responsible for the design, planning, and execution of electrical systems for asphalt mixing plants. The role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with the required quality. The engineer manages electrical design projects and ensures that the final product meets customer and contract requirements.

Main Responsibilities

Project Engineering & Execution

  • Plan and design electrical systems for asphalt mixing plants
  • Create electrical schematics and control cabinet designs (E-CAD)
  • Select and define electrical components and system concepts
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards and regulations
  • Support commissioning and clarify technical issues

Project Management

  • Manage assigned projects and sub-projects from concept to handover
  • Ensure projects meet time, cost, and quality targets
  • Prepare technical concepts, calculations, and cost estimates
  • Support quotation process and define additional costs if needed
  • Ensure complete and correct project documentation

Coordination & Collaboration

  • Work closely with project management, service, and other engineering teams
  • Ensure good information flow between all involved departments
  • Align technical solutions and components within the group
  • Support continuous improvement of tools, templates, and engineering standards

Process & Quality

  • Improve and optimize engineering processes to reduce cost and increase efficiency
  • Ensure consistent use of engineering tools, such as E-CAD systems and templates
  • Maintain high quality standards in all project work
  • Support department development, including methods, guidelines, and best practices

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure electrical designs meet safety standards and regulations
  • Take measures to protect people and equipment

Technical Requirements

  • Technical education in electrical engineering or similar, such as certified electrician, technician HF, or equivalent
  • Several years of experience, approximately 5+ years, in electrical design of industrial plants
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Electrical engineering and control cabinet design
    • Industrial standards and regulations
    • E-CAD systems and electrical documentation
  • Experience with automation systems is an advantage
  • Good English skills, spoken and written
