We are seeking to strengthen our client's senior team with an experienced and top professional (m/f/d) for the role of a Senior Category Manager in the fruit and vegetable sector.
Main Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive assortment management - i.e. reating and maintaining a competitive assortment of fruits and vegetables and ensuring the assortment reflects current market trends and customer preferences.
- Responsible for achieving turnover and ensuring optimal gross profit within the category.
- Leadership of the assigned team, including buyers and and assistants, to ensure effective work according to the organizational structure.
- Developing long-term strategies for the category in line with overall company goals and executing tenders and purchases in accordance with internal guidelines.
- Maintaining high standards of quality and controlling the sales performance of products.
- Building and maintaining relationships with both local suppliers and Group suppliers. Creating leverage in collaboration across the region by utilizing synergies to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identifying and integrating new trends and innovations, including attending relevant trade fairs.
- Ensuring all internal policies and procedures are followed.
Expectations:
- Minimum secondayr education with a focus on business or management, preferably higher education. At least 5 years of work experience in category management in a retail environment.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking, proactive approach, ability to adapt to rapidly changing market conditions, strong communication and social skills, resilience to pressure.
- Proficiency in IT tools, especially MS Office. Advanced level of English or German, fluent Slovak or Czech.
- We expect flexibility and willingness to travel, as well as adaptability to various work environments.
- The job is based in Bratislava with regular trips across Slovakia (warehouses, partners) and occasional trips abroad (partners, headquarters).
