The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Process Engineer to play a key role in shaping technical solutions, driving engineering standards and supporting the development of a highly skilled engineering team.
Working remotely from within Europe, you will combine hands-on technical expertise with project involvement and technical decision-making. You will have the opportunity to influence engineering concepts, contribute to complex international projects and establish best practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Process design and engineering: Develop and validate process designs, including heat and mass balances, equipment sizing, calculations and process documentation.
- Technical standards: Establish and improve engineering methodologies, calculation tools and design standards, ensuring consistency and quality across projects.
- Project execution: Work closely with project teams throughout the engineering and delivery process, contributing to technical decisions, assessing risks and ensuring the feasibility of proposed solutions.
- Technical leadership: Act as a trusted technical authority, reviewing engineering work, resolving complex challenges and guiding colleagues on critical technical matters, without requiring formal people-management responsibilities.
- Innovation and development: Contribute to the development of new technologies and applications, including planning and evaluating trials and translating results into industrial-scale solutions.
- Commissioning and optimisation: Participate in the commissioning and optimisation of industrial installations internationally, troubleshooting process issues and fine-tuning operating parameters to meet customer requirements.
- Customer and supplier interaction: Provide technical expertise in customer discussions, project meetings, equipment acceptance procedures and collaboration with suppliers.
- Knowledge sharing: Strengthen the organisation's technical capabilities by mentoring engineers, sharing expertise and continuously improving internal engineering practices.
Requirements
- Degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Mechanical Engineering with a strong focus on process engineering.
- Solid professional experience in process design and the execution of industrial engineering projects, ideally with a background in thermal processes or related industrial technologies.
- Proven hands-on experience in process calculations, equipment sizing, heat and mass balances, process flow diagrams and P&IDs.
- Demonstrated involvement in the design, commissioning and optimisation of industrial installations.
- Strong technical judgement and the ability to take ownership of engineering decisions throughout project execution.
- Experience working in international engineering environments, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken; additional languages are an advantage.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required by project needs.
- A collaborative mindset, with a genuine interest in sharing knowledge and contributing to the development of other engineers.
- Confidence using digital engineering tools and AI-supported solutions in day-to-day work.
