Landscape Engineer - Egypt

We are in search of an experienced Landscape Engineer for a one-year contract to oversee all external works and landscaping for a luxury residence project with one of our major steel producer clients in Egypt. This role will involve working abroad and necessitates a proficient command of English, a commitment to luxury standards, comprehensive knowledge of plant species suitable for the local climate and experience in both hardscape (including swimming pools) and softscape construction. Reports To: Construction Manager

Job Summary: The Landscape Engineer is the client's on-site specialist for all external works and landscaping. You will oversee the contractor's implementation of hardscape (driveways, walkways, pools) and softscape (soil preparation, irrigation, planting of mature trees and ornamental plants), ensuring the final result creates a beautiful, sustainable, and private oasis for residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review all landscape architecture drawings, planting plans, and specifications for irrigation and lighting.
  • Inspect the quality of all incoming landscape materials, including soil, mature plants, pavers, and irrigation components.
  • Oversee the installation of swimming pools, water features, and advanced irrigation systems.
  • Supervise soil preparation, grading, and planting activities to ensure best horticultural practices are followed.
  • Inspect the construction of all hardscape elements for quality of workmanship and materials.
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of newly planted areas during the establishment period.
  • Report progress and any issues with pests, diseases, or installation quality to the Construction Manager.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Diploma in Agriculture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience supervising the installation of luxury residential, resort, or high-end commercial landscaping projects.
  • Strong knowledge of plant species suitable for the local climate, soil science, and water-efficient irrigation systems.
  • Experience in both hardscape (including swimming pools) and softscape construction is essential.
