Our client, a reputable engineering consultancy based in Madrid, is seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting sustainable development projects, environmental impact assessments, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIA) and prepare detailed reports for various construction and infrastructure projects.
- Evaluate the environmental implications of proposed developments and recommend mitigation measures.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and EU environmental regulations and standards.
- Assist clients with permit applications, environmental licensing, and regulatory documentation.
- Perform site inspections and environmental audits to monitor project compliance.
- Develop and implement environmental management plans (EMP) and sustainability strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, project managers, and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on evolving environmental legislation and technological innovations.
Requirements
- Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in environmental consultancy or relevant sectors.
- Solid understanding of environmental legislation, standards, and permitting processes in Spain and the EU.
- Experience with impact assessment methodologies and environmental monitoring techniques.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills in Spanish; English is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
