FELICES FIESTAS PATRIAS 2025, PERU!

A certain pall of dark haze and exhaust fumes always hangs over the metropolis of Lima, gripping the city and never letting go. In large cities like Lima, a population of millions are running up and down the streets every day, never tiring in its search for a better version of itself, and thus of an entire nation.

On July 28, Peru commemorates its independence from Spanish colonial rule, which was proclaimed by General José de San Martín on July 28, 1821. Every day a giant colossus, rises up anew to rebel against poverty and corruption, abuse and misery. With the rising morning sun and the dissolving clouds, an entire nation, determined to fight against all adversities and against the winds of time and doom, in the belief that a better future is possible.

Every day they get up and work hard; thousands of mothers, often single parents, take to the streets to offer street food from small food stalls or sell fake sodas, colored water, or cheap candy on the side of the road. A whole host of courageous women raise their children under often the most difficult conditions with the target to send them to school providing them education. What drives them is the vision, or even just the vague idea, of a better future. This story we want to tell you is about a country that has inspired us like few places in the world. And yet this country is also so contradictory and often full of contrasts.

Although Peruvians are known for their friendliness and positive attitude toward life, yet something like wistfulness and melancholy always hangs over the violin-filled, jubilant skies. Peruvians are proud of their achievements, but one always senses a certain pain in everything. The Peruvian soul is profound, and one can never fully master itself or grasp its structure.

To understand this country means to commit one hundred percent to it. Getting to know this wonderful country is like walking a path through a thorny rose forest – at the end of which – something like eternal fulfillment might be found. It is the land of legendary myths, primordial gods and spirits, and heroic kingdoms like those of the Incas.

This tribute goes to an entire nation that often appears ambivalent and contradictory, yet is willing enough to let the sleepless ghosts of the past rest and, precisely because of its rich historical foundation, has chosen the search for self-determination, independence, growth, and authenticity as its highest goal. A nation in search of a collective consciousness and a new set of values and national order.

A country that has literally everything to offer. What is missing is the focus on the essential, the sharpened eye, so to say, to transform the achievements of the historical past, together with the courage, faith, and hope for a better life, into something truly great. A transformative path to self-knowledge, autonomy and self-recognition.
